Bard – How to determine the age or manufacture date

Bard (1980 - Present)

 

Date of Manufacture (1980 to Present):  The manufacturing date code is the fourth, fifth and sixth digits of the Bard serial number, and represents the month and year of manufacture.  To determine month:  A = Jan; B = Feb; C = Mar; D = Apr; "E" was not used; F = May; "G" was not used; H = Jun; I was not used; J = Jul; K = Aug; L = Sep;  M = Oct; N=Nov; "O" was not used; and P = Dec.

 

For example:  123A91123454502 indicate that this sample Bard unit was manufactured in January of 1999.

 

Year of manufacture:  123A91123454502

 

Month of manufacture:  123A91123454502

 


Bard   (April 1, 1980 to June 1, 1980)

 

Date of Manufacture (April 1 to June 1, 1980):  The manufacturing date code is the fourth and fifth digits of the Bard serial number, and represents the month and year of manufacture.  To determine month:  D = April and F = May.  The year 1980 used the letter “A” for identification.

 

For example:  123DA456789 indicate that this sample Bard unit was manufactured in April, 1980.

 

Year of manufacture:  123DA456789

 

Month of manufacture:  123DA456789

 


Bard   (1962 to April 1, 1980)

 

Date of Manufacture (1962 to April 1, 1980):  The manufacturing date code is the last two digits of the Bard serial number (Displayed as letters), and represents the month and year of manufacture. 

 

To determine month:  A = Jan; B = Feb; C = Mar; D = Apr; E = May; F = Jun; G = Jul; H = Aug; I was not used; J = Sep; K = Oct; L = Nov; and M = Dec.

 

To determine year:  B = 1962; C = 1963;  D = 1964; E = 1965; F = 1966; G = 1967; H = 1968; “I” was not used; J = 1969; K = 1970; L = 1971; M = 1972; N = 1973; O = 1974; P = 1975; “Q” was not used; R = 1976; S = 1977; T = 1978; U = 1979; and V = 1980.

 

For example:  144321BV indicate that this sample Bard unit was manufactured in February, 1980.
