Keeprite – How to determine the age or manufacture date

There are at least three styles of serial numbers used by Keeprite.

 

Style 1

Keeprite – (1994 to present)

Serial Number format:  L9447 37886

(This serial number is from another furnace with a similar serial number format).

 

Date of Manufacture:  Using the second, third, fourth and fifth digits of the serial number L9447 37886 you will find the year and week of manufacture.  The second and third digits are the year of manufacture and the fourth and fifth digits are the week.  This unit was manufactured in the 47th week of 1994.

 

 

Week of manufacture:  L9447  37886

Year of manufacture:  L9447 37886

Style 2

Keeprite – (1980 thru 1993)

Serial Number format:  305123456

(This serial number is fictitious).

 

Date of Manufacture:  Using the first, second and third digits of the serial number 305123456 you will find the year and week of manufacture.  The first digit is the year of manufacture and the second and third digits are the week.  This unit was manufactured in the 5th week of either 1983 or 1993.

 

Year of manufacture:  305123456

Week of manufacture:  305123456

Style 3

Keeprite – (1970 thru 1994)

Serial Number format:  Z3Z xxxx or ZZ xxxx

(These serial numbers are fictitious).

 

Date of Manufacture:  Using the first group of digits use the last letter to determine year of manufacture.  Both of these sample serial numbers indicate that the unit was manufactured in 1977.

 

Year of manufacture:  Z3Z xxxx or ZZ xxxx

S = 1970

T = 1971

U = 1972

V = 1973

W = 1974

X = 1975

Y = 1976

Z = 1977

A = 1978

B = 1979

C = 1980

D = 1981
